FREE TICKETS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
Occombe Beer Festival is a well-attended event and vital fundraiser for our charity, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust. As a thank you to the local residents living in the immediate area of Occombe Farm - a pair of complimentary tickets will be offered to each household for the Friday night of the festival. You can enjoy fantastic live music, a superb selection of ales, ciders and Pimms and a feast of delicious foods. If your household is eligible, you will receive a letter from the Trust with instructions as to how to obtain your tickets.
THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW...
The festival will open its gates at 4pm on Friday 16th June and will close at 11pm. It reopens at 1.30pm on Saturday 17th June and closes again at 11pm. This is in compliance with the terms of our licence – there will be no music after this time and we will do our very best to clear all festival go-ers from Occombe Farm by midnight.
The sound that the live music at the festival produces will be monitored and controlled by professional sound technicians and regular sound level readings will be taken to ensure that the sound stays below the recommended levels.
We will issue all festival go-ers with a free polycarbonate plastic glass, so there will be no glass at the event. We will also carry out a litter pick along the roadside verges surrounding Occombe Farm the day after the festival.
We do not allow any parking at Occombe Farm for festival goers and there is strictly no overnight camping. We've applied for a temporary parking suspension along the top of Preston Down Road during the festival to prevent cars parking along the verges too. We'll also be running a regular bus services to and from both Torquay and Paignton during the event to help festival go-ers get here and get home quickly and easily.
Local authorities have been notified about the event and as always, we'll be working with police officers to manage the area outside Occombe Farm, mainly to deter any anti-social behaviour. The fantastic Torbay Street Pastors will also be on hand, alongside a dedicated and professional security team.
